In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

As an Application Developer specializing in Java, you will create and test computer programs using the Java programming language. You will utilize your expertise in Java Object Oriented programming, systems development, distributed computing, and Linux development to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Develop Java Applications: Design, develop, and test Java-based applications, leveraging your knowledge of Java Object Oriented programming principles and core CS competencies such as data structures, algorithms, and software architectures.

• Implement Web Technologies: Apply your experience with JSP/Servlets, web frameworks, and service-oriented architecture/web services (SOAP/REST) to build robust web applications, incorporating technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.

• Work with Data Formats: Utilize your understanding of markup languages like XML and JSON to effectively integrate and manipulate data within Java applications.

• Collaborate on Solution Delivery: Participate in collaborative efforts to deliver comprehensive solutions, bringing your expertise in Java development to the table.

• Troubleshoot and Optimize: Identify and resolve issues, optimizing Java applications for improved performance and reliability.

• Java Object Oriented Programming: Experience with Java Object Oriented programming principles, including systems development, distributed computing, and Linux development.

• Core CS Competencies: Solid foundation in core CS competencies such as data structures, algorithms, and software architectures.

• Web Development: Experience with JSP/Servlets, web frameworks, and service-oriented architecture/web services (SOAP/REST), including technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
